You might remember me mentioning previously that I had been chosen as one of the 10 finalists for the LoBlography Challenge. Each of us were sent a Diana F+ camera and some rolls of film and had 2 weeks to snap photos and post the results on our blogs, the person who received the most blog comments and likes would win the much sought after Lomo LC-A.
I've loved Lomo for ages and have had a lot of fun snapping away with my Diana Mini. Of course being film, rather than digital, means that the results are unpredictable. However most of the time you end up with really amazing photos with dreamy effects and crazy colours, but sometimes it can all go wrong. The photos I took for the LoBlography Challenge sadly all fall under the second category. I'm not sure exactly what happened. It could be a fault in a camera, a fault with the film, the photo lab or
Of course I'm disappointed (who wouldn't be?) but I still love Lomography and this hasn't put me off at all (nor should it put you off!). Rosie from A Rosie Outlook is also taking part and her photos are lovely. I've got until Wednesday before the challenge ends and I have to wave goodbye to the Diana F+ so I'm going to make use of this time and shoot a few more rolls and cross my fingers for some successful photos. I was looking forward to picking up my last roll of film today and being able to post some successful photos to inspire you all but instead I'm going to post some of my favourite photos taken by myself using my Diana Mini and also some of my favourite shots by others using the Diana F+.

The challenge ends at midnight on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I've lost all chances of winning the Lomo LC A now, but incase there's still a glimmer of hope that I'm still involved in the challenge then I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a comment or even just click the 'like' button below.
EDITED: Had to add a 'love' button also as every time I got to 170 likes it deleted them and went back to 140. :( Please click 'love' instead.
i bid you good luck. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's kind of their charm. You get mixed results and you never know what you will get. Digital photograhpy is far less exciting when you can see the picture you have taken on the screen instantly. Glad it hasn't put you off, keep at it because your Diana mini photos are lovely!

ReplyDeleteArgh! How horrible ~ that is the joy & despair of film.
ReplyDeleteDo particularly like the bottom right of your 4, the multi exposed girls having fun is just making me smile :)
The pictures you took are gorgeous, and i hope you still have a chance to win :)

ReplyDeleteIt's a shame the photos didn't come out but your other photos look great! Good luck in the challenge. I hope you still have a chance of winning.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! I know how frustrating it can be, having had various rolls on the Diana Mini where most are all dark and blurry.. Hope you get some good ones before the deadline! :) Love your shots, the sparkler one is great xx
ReplyDeleteI screwed almost an entire roll doing that! Do you have the ability to do prints in the dark room yourself? Because in the dark room you may be able to get something out you can't see with the naked eye... I did!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Great photos. I must try a Lomo soon.
ReplyDeletelove the pics! good luck! xx
ReplyDeleteHow rottenly unlucky! I don't fondly remember the days of film - easier to see if you've taken a clunker with digital.
ReplyDeletei love these photos. good luck! x
ReplyDeletegood luck! <3
ReplyDeleteGood luck - these photos are great!
ReplyDeleteawch that sucks,im dreading getting my first roll developed got a feeling it's gonna be a complete failure and I already know for a fact 2 of my pics wont turn out caus I left the lens cap on good start lol.

ReplyDeleteI love lomo, but she's a slippery vixen to control. My Diana and I wasted five rolls before I got the swing of it, and even now the results are pretty wonky.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck in the competition!
Good luck bb x
ReplyDeletegood luck! i have a lomo lca but it's properly bust, i really need to get it fixed. it's so temperamental but i think that's part of the joy! not like with digital cameras where you can take millions and millions of photos and they all turn out.
ReplyDeleteThat's the joy of taking a photo.. not knowing until you get it developed not like nowadays eh!
ReplyDeleteThese pics are great, good luck
