I've been using Osis Dust It for a year or so now. For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it's a light powder that you rub into your roots to create texture and volume. It's a quick alternative to backcombing - simply rub into your roots and you've got instant volume. It costs £10 per pot though so when I saw a new VO5 product advertised to do the same job as Dust It, and at less than half of the price, I had to try it! But does it do the job as well?
The short answer is yes, and I will definitely be re-buying this! I have found absolutely no difference between the two of them in terms of the amount of texture created and the staying power. You don't need to use a lot of powder either, so this 7g pot will last a long time. It's handbag sized too, so it's really convenient to carry around for a quick fix throughout the day. Something that has been really puzzling me is that when you shake the tub (it says on the label "This pack has extra head space, so you can shake it up before use") some sort of crazy chemical reaction occurs and the amount of product increases. When purchsed, the powder only reaches the top of the label, but once shaken the pot is full to the brim. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!
What is everyones favourite products for creating volume? Have you tried the new VO5 texture powder yet?
I have the Got2B and the TreSemme ones and I love them, my hair needs all the volume you can get!
ReplyDeletewhere did you find the vo5 powder in glasgow? I've been searching high and low but can't find it anywhere! :(

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what causes the growth, perhaps it oxidises when it's shaked and that causes it? I'm not too sure, I barely scraped a B in GCSE Science.... xx

ReplyDeleteI love love love this product. I agree they are identical. I only wear it for nights out however as it does leave your hair a bit too matted to do anything with the day after!
