These photos are courtesy of my friend Mark's 50mm lens which he has kindly let me borrow. I absolutely love it and buying myself one is right at the top of my wishlist now!
This week has mainly been spent working on a few new designs for Dainty Nails, making Amaretto and chocolate cupcakes, drinking the rest of the Amaretto and re-discovering my cosy knits. I also started reading my favourite book, One Day, again after seeing the film. Like most films, it was nothing compared to the book. The accents were terrible and I still stand by my first reaction on hearing that Anne Hathaway was cast as Em - she just doesn't suit the role. Didn't stop me leaving the cinema with my make up streaming down my face though!
Well done to Sophie Warner (not sure if she reads this!) who won the Dainty Nails Facebook Page giveaway. For everyone else, I've set up a 20% off discount code that will be active until the end of the month. Just enter 'FACEBOOK20' at checkout!

lovely photos :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you about One Day! I did enjoy it, but it was NO comparison to the book, and Anne Hathaway was definitely a wrong choice to play Emma. Her accent was dire too! xx
ReplyDeleteThe 50mm lens takes amazing photographs, especially of those chocolate cupcakes, mmmm. Big knits are my favorite right now, I need to pick up some more.

Looks like you had a lovely week! Those cupcakes look AMAZING, do you have a recipe?
ReplyDeleteI completely agree about One Day - Anne Hathaway was not right for the role and her accent was cringeworthy. I might have to follow your lead and re-read the book to get over my disappointment at the film.
I bought a 50mm lens last month and I'm so glad I did! The photos look so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, my nan recently brought One Day and I definitely need to get my hands on it!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that these photos are especially wonderful, it's amazing what lenses can achieve. A 50mm has been on my wishlist for a long long time. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Anne Hathaway as Em, it just didn't work! Jim Sturgess was a great Dexter though I thought :)
