This month saw Boudoir Prive join forces with JolieBox, France's leading beauty box subscription service. I was excited to see what the new JolieBox would bring, and I wasn't disappointed! The first thing I noticed was the packaging - the box is slightly smaller, but the black gives the brand a much more sophisticated image. Inside there's a beautifully printed card containing all the product info, and the graphic designer side of me spent a good few minutes admiring the nice paper choice. It's small details like this that I like!
Although I'm not a huge fan of shatter/crackle nail polish, I was impressed to see a full size OPI polish (which retails at around £10) inside. The Jane Iredale 24-Karat Gold Dust also caught my eye with it's lovely rose pink colour and gold shimmer. I don't usually use shimmery products because I'm always scared that I'll end up looking like a discoball but I was really surprised with this, a little goes a long way and it adds a lovely glow to my skin. It's also a really generous size and will last for a long time.
I think the thing I like most about this months JolieBox is that each of the products are something that I'd use. I stick by my opinion, after receiving tea in the first BP box, that it doesn't quite fit in with my idea of a beauty box and seems like an odd choice but I do drink tea so I'm not going to complain. Another thing I'm happy about is the lack of perfume in the box since I'm quite picky and have never liked any of the perfumes included in previous boxes!
This month's box was definitely brilliant value for money, and I really am impressed with it. I told myself that I was going to unsubscribe to either this box or Glossybox by January because I can't justify £20 on beauty boxes every month and I think I've almost decided which I'll be keeping...
I know what you mean - there is always the feeling that there is something else out there! I'm sure I'm happy with the Joliebox, but I still really want to try the box from Feel Unique!
ReplyDeleteI think I prefer old BP boxes to Glossybox anyway so I'm almost certain that I'll be staying subscribed. I can't help but want to try some of the other boxes too though... x
ReplyDeleteYeah, the packaging and attention to detail was lovely! It feels like such a treat. :) I definitely think the OPI and gold dust were the highlights for me. I hated the whole black crackle polish trend but I think it might be quite nice with gold.
ReplyDeleteIt's been out for as long as Glossybox, only it changed it's name this month. I love it! x
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was brilliant! I was so surprised and I'm already looking forward to the next one :) x
ReplyDeleteAww thank you Rosie but you're great at photography, especially the outdoor-sy type! I want to give Feel Unique a try, I think I might unsub to Glossybox and maybe try it for a month or two. x
ReplyDeleteI think you can still order it online even after it's been posted out. :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks hun! Yeah, I've heard a lot of people complain about the service they give. I'm lucky to have never had any problems. xx
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty I haven't been that impressed by Glossybox. I'd definitely recommend trying this box out but I guess it's a bit hit or miss with them all. x
ReplyDeleteBloody hell this box looks mint!! I'm treating myself to a beauty box In the new year :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make beauty boxes look this good, you are so good at photography!
ReplyDeleteI unsubscribed from Boudoir Prive recently but I wish I'd got this box, it looks really good. I'm only subscribed to Feel Unique now, I can't afford more than one!

I've already seen a lot of jolie box posts but just wanted to say that yours has the best photography so far! Still not sure if I want to re-subscribe after the headache I had trying to change my card details, despite how great this box looks :/

This looks like the loveliest box and so prettily packaged! Very impressed by the full size OPI polish and the 24 Karat gold dust looks very pretty. I would probably get use out of all of this too, which is the main thing really!

I was really impressed with this box too - I want to wait to see what comes in the next few boxes, but I think I'll be going for Joliebox too - I love the little details and the sophistication too!
