I usually avoid tea tree because I find it quite harsh but my skin has been playing up lately and my friend, a recent Lush convert thanks to yours truly, recommended these to me and at only 75p per tab it'd be silly not to give them a try!
To use toner tabs you simply drop one in a bowl of hot water (I boiled and left mine to cool for a couple of minutes), watch it fizz and then sit with your head nesting in the bowl for 5 or so minutes. I also put a towel over my head to trap in the heat and it was like a mini sauna!
I've used two of these (one per week) so far and it's a really nice way to pamper yourself. I haven't noticed any huge improvements in my skin and the breakouts I have, but after using it my skin does feel a lot smoother. I've actually been using this to open my pores before using a fresh face mask and my skin definitely does feel softer and more hydrated than usual.
I was worried about the tea tree scent being too strong but I liked the fact that I could add more water to dilute it if needed, but in the end I found that I didn't need to. It's a nice relaxing, gentle product. It really helped to clean my sinuses and get rid of my blocked nose too.
Another little tip that I learned from a Lush employee is that you can bottle the water once it has cooled and use it as a toner - either spritzing it over your face throughout the day or using with a cotton wool pad.
Although I'm undecided if using these will actually help with breakouts and the overall condition of my skin just yet, I think I will continue to buy them as they're great for a pamper night and I really enjoy the steam room/sauna sensation!
Hehe, thanks! I definitely will! :)

Great post! I really like Lush and should visit it soon :) xxx
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't too steamy to be honest, I can't handle steam rooms sometimes. I think the spritzer bottle would be a good idea for throughout summer, esp if you keep it in the fridge! x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely is worth a try, they seem to get good reviews too! x
ReplyDeleteDid you find that you had to use them quite often before you noticed any difference with the spots? x
ReplyDeleteOoh did it really? I've not tried that one, will definitely see what it's like! x
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think they're a bit of an odd product, I didn't really know what to do with it either! x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth the 75p! I've been missing my daily saunas since coming back from working in Newcastle so this was a nice treat! x
ReplyDeleteI've been tempted to buy the other tabs for so long, glad I've finally tried these ones. x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely do try some of their products! I've got a tag with quite a lot of reviews if you're looking for suggestions. :) x
ReplyDeleteI'd always wondered what they'd be like too! They've got a few other tabs that I'm keen to try. :) x
ReplyDeleteOh no, that's a shame! I don't know how I'd live without lush haha! Sad! x
ReplyDeleteAww did you have the cold? I'll certainly be using them if I catch it! x
ReplyDeleteYeah it did feel like a treat! As I say I'm not sure how much effect it has on my skin just yet but I do enjoy using them. x
ReplyDeleteI'd been curious to try them for a while too but the tea tree had put me off! I'm going to try the steam tabs next, I think! x
ReplyDeleteI'm keen to try these, they're so cheap I'm always tempted to get one when I'm in Lush! Sounds like a nice relaxing way to better skin and great tip about using the water afterwards as a toner :) x
ReplyDeleteI've never tried these before but they sound like a great skin treat!
