This dress is another new purchase from one of the brands in New Look. I never usually look at their brands area, most of the dresses are a bit too tacky for my liking, but it seems they do have some nice stuff too! My only complaint is that the buttonholes are a bit big for the buttons, resulting in me walking to my desk at work with my boobs completely on show. A colleague did notice but thought that was the look I was going for, apparently! Oh dear.
I've also been loving dip dye leopard print nails lately and I'll probably do a post on them once I re-do my nails as they're quite chipped at the moment!
After watching a documentary called Dreams of a Life last night (it's on Netflix if you're interested in watching) I thought I would share the story of Joyce Carol Vincent. Joyce was tragically found in her 1 bed flat 3 years after she had died, with the TV still on. It is a bit of a deep subject for my blog, but the whole thing really moved me and it's hard to believe someone so loved can become so lonely. It also left me with so many questions like how the electricity hadn't been cut off or why the landlord hadn't checked why rent wasn't being paid. The whole story is fascinating but in a really upsetting way. If you're interested, you can read about the story at this link.
Very nice! :)

What a lovely dress! I really want to watch Dreams of a Life, the story is devastating but also so fascinating (in a very morbid way). Will add to my list again now.

Love the dress, but I did giggle a bit about your indecent exposure ;) haha. I've a dress thats done that before that I wore out with the boyfriends family for a meal, thankfully I think I noticed before anyone else did!
ReplyDeleteThe nails are gorgeous too, I really want to do them myself but I can't be bothered with the messy application!
xx
I love that dress, it's a lovely print :) I've managed to expose myself from ill-fitting buttons loads, I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteThe documentary sounds very interesting, such a sad and morbid subject though x

Wowser, I love this dress! I don't usually look at the other brands either for the same reason, but this is such a lovely print - Just a shame about the buttonhole incident! I have a vest top thats like that, once they popped open just as I was paying at Burger king - The poor guy had no idea where to look as I fumbled about trying to protect my modesty, gah!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard about that story before, but how tragic! I'm going to have a look at the story now because hey - I'm meant to be revising!
ALSO, the watch came today you gorgeous amazing sexual thing you!! <3 xx
That dress is gorgeous! I usually run and hide from the concessions in New Look because they're all blingy and sequiny and very short and scary, but that is lovely. It really suits you too, the pleats are very flattering.
ReplyDeleteGod what an awful story. The documentary sounds really interesting though, I might check it out.
beautiful dress for a beautiful lady. bird prints are always the best prints!
ReplyDeletesuch a sad story, i'm off to read more about it.. i always want to know all the details, not because i'm a nosey bum but just because stuff like this interests me so much too!x
Oh gosh that story is harrowing! I'm slightly concerned the first question which sprang to my mind was "what channel was the tv on", how could nobody have checked in that time?! Neighbours? Bill collection men like you said?
ReplyDeleteThat aside - this is a beautiful print dress! I luff anything bird related anyway :) ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad
You look so pretty! Lovely dress, such a great print! Might check out that docu on netflix, sounds crazy, 3yrs!?
