I moved into my dream flat 4 months ago, so I thought it was about time I posted some photos of it. Since it's so big I chose to show you the main room (living room, kitchen and dining room all in one) first since it's the most impressive, and I'll show you the other areas soon!
My flat is one of about 30 in a Grade A listed building, built in 1797 as a rope making factory and recently converted into apartments. Since the building is listed, its kept a lot of it's character, from metal cogs in the wall (which actually hold the building together!), to the gorgeous exposed brickwork and high ceilings. When being converted into flats, they kept a rustic theme going with the exposed pipes, beams and pillars.
I am absolutely in love with the place, and even after 4 months of living here I still can't quite believe it! I love that when we go homeware shopping, nothing is too big (infact, we're struggling to find a rug which is actually big enough!) and that the huge windows let so much light in and give us the most beautiful views.
Since these photos were taken a few days ago we've started work on a cosy snug area where the dining room is, and utilised the extra space in the middle to bring the dining area closer to the kitchen. I can't wait to show you the snug when it's finished, we've got some great ideas!
It's going to be a very, very difficult day if I ever need to move out!
Its so so gorgeous wow! Xxxx
ReplyDeleteI would like to remind you this is OUR flat Charlene! ;)

Excuse my nosiness (can't help it!) but would love to know if you rent or bought it. Getting a space like that over here in Edinburgh would be impossible under any budget, so I am extremely jealous. Such space! That light! Nghhhhhh! Can't wait to see the photos of the other rooms!
